Gates of Olympus Slot: RTP, Multipliers and How It Works
Gates of Olympus is a 6×5 Pay Anywhere slot built around tumbling wins, random multiplier symbols and a 15-spin Free Spins feature. The multiplier behaviour changes inside the bonus, where qualifying values can build a running total across the feature.

How Gates of Olympus works
Gates of Olympus does not use fixed paylines or an adjacent cluster rule for its regular symbol wins. Instead, eight or more matching regular symbols anywhere on the 6×5 screen can form a Pay Anywhere win.
Here is what that looks like in the game. Eight matching blue gems are spread across separate positions on the grid, but together they form one £0.50 win.

When a regular-symbol win forms, the game starts its Tumble Feature. The winning regular symbols disappear, the remaining symbols fall into the empty spaces and new symbols enter from above. The new screen is then checked again.
If another regular-symbol win appears, the process repeats within the same paid spin. The UK rules do not state a cap on the number of tumbles. The sequence ends naturally when the next evaluation produces no new regular-symbol win.
Tumble is Pragmatic Play’s name for the same broad remove-refill-recheck behaviour Slotathon explains in its Cascading Reels guide.
The Scatter is separate from the Pay Anywhere payout system. Regular symbols win by count anywhere on the grid, while four or more Scatters trigger the Free Spins feature.
How do Gates of Olympus multipliers work?
Multiplier symbols can appear randomly during spins and tumbles. Each carries a value from 2× to 500×.
The multiplier symbols themselves do not tumble away with the regular winning symbols. Once the tumble sequence has finished, the values of the multiplier symbols still on screen are added together. That total is then used to multiply the win from that tumble sequence.
So if more than one multiplier is present, the values are added before the multiplier is applied. They are not multiplied by one another.
In the base game, that multiplier state belongs to the current spin and its tumble sequence. A new paid spin starts again without a stored multiplier from the previous one.
This is where the base game and the bonus separate. Gates of Olympus uses the same general multiplier-symbol idea in Free Spins, but adds a persistent running total across the feature.

Gates of Olympus Free Spins explained
Landing four or more Scatters in the base game awards 15 Free Spins. During the feature, three or more Scatters add another 5 Free Spins. The rules do not state an explicit limit on the number of these +5-spin retriggers.

Tumbles remain part of the game during Free Spins, but the multiplier behaviour changes. When a qualifying multiplier symbol is present at the end of a winning Free Spin tumble sequence, its value is added to a running total multiplier. If several qualifying multiplier symbols are present, their values are added into that total.
The running total does not reset between Free Spins. Once it has increased, the stored value remains in place for later spins in the same feature and can increase again when further qualifying multipliers arrive.
One important detail is easy to miss. The first-party example says the accumulated total is applied to a winning Free Spin when a qualifying multiplier symbol is present on that winning spin. If a later winning Free Spin has no qualifying multiplier symbol, the existing stored total is not simply applied automatically.
- Base game: multiplier values apply to the current tumble sequence and do not carry into the next paid spin.
- Free Spins: qualifying multiplier values build a running total that persists across the feature, but the stored total still has a game-specific application condition.
For how these behaviours appear elsewhere, see Random Multipliers and Increasing Multipliers.
Gates of Olympus RTP, max win and UK versions
There is not one universal RTP figure for Gates of Olympus. UK certification documents versions at 94.50%, 95.50% and 96.50%, with a later 2024 certification adding a 92.10% configuration.
| RTP | Evidence context | Buy Free Spins |
|---|---|---|
| 96.50% | UK certification, 2021 | Disabled |
| 95.50% | UK certification, 2021 | Disabled |
| 94.50% | UK certification and UK rules, 2021 | Disabled |
| 92.10% | Later UK certification and rules, 2024 | Disabled |
Those are certified configurations, not a promise that every casino runs the same one. The version you actually see depends on the game configuration being supplied there.
What RTP did Slotathon find at UK casinos?
Slotathon checked Gates of Olympus across 11 selected UK-facing casino sites on 24-25 September 2026. We found three different RTP settings: 94.50% at seven sites, 92.10% at three and 96.50% at one. We did not encounter the certified 95.50% configuration in this sample.

How can you check the RTP of the version you are playing?
Open the game’s Game Rules and find the RTP page. In all 11 Gates of Olympus screens checked for this snapshot, the rules displayed the theoretical RTP directly. The same screens also showed the Ante Bet RTP.
For example, a 94.50% client shows a theoretical RTP of 94.50% and an Ante Bet RTP of 94.50%. The 92.10% and 96.50% clients we checked followed the same pattern, with Ante Bet matching the base RTP.
RTP is a long-run theoretical percentage. It does not predict what will happen in an individual session.
Some technical material uses a 95.51 label. In the UK certification, that configuration is evaluated at 95.50% for base and Ante play. Swedish certification separately documents 95.51% for Buy Free Spins in that market.
Is Bonus Buy available in Gates of Olympus in the UK?
No, not in the UK-certified configurations covered here. The certification conditions state that Buy Free Spins or Buy Feature should not be enabled.
That is why an international Gates of Olympus description can show a purchase feature while a Great Britain-facing version does not. Feature availability is a configuration and jurisdiction question, not something that should be copied from one market to another.
For the broader mechanic, see Feature Buy and Bonus Buy slots.
Does the Ante Bet change the RTP?
Not in the UK-certified configurations covered here. The Ante Bet is listed at the same RTP as base play across the 92.10%, 94.50%, 95.50% and 96.50% UK configurations.
The live-client checks tell the same story for the three settings we actually encountered: every one of the 11 screens showed an Ante Bet RTP equal to the base RTP. In the 94.50% UK rules, Ante Bet increases the stake by 25% and increases the chance of triggering Free Spins naturally.
Other jurisdictions document more specific trigger-probability wording, but those figures should not be imported into the GB version unless the UK evidence supports them.
What is the maximum win?
The maximum win is 5,000× the total bet. That is a payout ceiling. It does not tell you how likely that outcome is.
Which Gates of Olympus game does this page cover?
This page covers the original Gates of Olympus released in 2021. Later Gates of Olympus-branded releases are separate games with their own rules and configurations, so the RTP, multiplier and maximum-win figures on this page should not automatically be applied to them.
Is Gates of Olympus high volatility?
In the live UK versions Slotathon checked, Gates of Olympus was labelled Medium volatility. All 11 rules screens checked on 24-25 September 2026 showed Medium. Older UK certification rule sheets reviewed for this page label the game High, however, so the documented label has not been consistent across sources and builds.
Slotathon therefore keeps both labels visible rather than treating either one as universal. The live-client evidence tells us what those sampled versions displayed in September 2026; the certification material remains part of the documented UK build history.
A volatility label is a documented characteristic. It cannot be inferred from large multipliers or a 5,000× maximum win.

Do Gates of Olympus multipliers carry over in Free Spins?
Qualifying multiplier values are added to a running total that persists across the Free Spins feature. The first-party example also shows an application condition: the stored total is used on a winning spin when a qualifying multiplier symbol is present, rather than automatically multiplying every later win.
How many Free Spins do you get, and can they retrigger?
Four or more Scatters trigger 15 Free Spins. Three or more Scatters during the feature add another 5 spins, and the rules do not state an explicit retrigger limit.
